How long is the free trial?
Every plan includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features in that tier. No credit card is required to start. If you don't upgrade before the trial ends, your account simply pauses — nothing is charged.
What counts as a "participant"?
A participant is one unique person who completes a challenge attempt (i.e. takes a shot, does pull-ups, etc.). Spectators, page visitors, and people who only view the challenge page do not count toward your monthly limit.
Are there additional processing fees?
Yes. Standard Stripe processing fees (currently 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction) apply. SkillStake also charges a 2% platform fee on challenge entry transactions to cover infrastructure, fraud protection, and payout management.
What happens if I cancel?
You can cancel anytime from your dashboard. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your challenges pause and data is retained for 90 days so you can reactivate without losing anything.
What does white-label include?
The white-label option on the Enterprise plan removes all SkillStake branding from your participant-facing pages, emails, and receipts. You get a fully custom domain, your own logo, and brand colors — participants see your brand, not ours.
Is this gambling?
No. SkillStake is exclusively for games of skill — challenges where the outcome is determined predominantly by ability, not random chance. Hole-in-one contests, pull-up challenges, and half-court basketball shots all qualify as skill-based. Most U.S. jurisdictions distinguish these from gambling. Operators are responsible for verifying local compliance.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades apply at the start of your next billing period so you keep full access until then.
What's the 2% platform fee?
On every challenge entry payment processed through SkillStake, we charge a 2% platform fee. This covers our payment infrastructure, fraud detection, participant verification, and automated payout management. It's how we keep subscription prices low while providing enterprise-grade features.
